The grind never stops. In fighting, and life, there’s always an opportunity to learn and grow. I’d give anything to step back into that cage one more time. However, I am still pushed, inspired, and motivated by our young stable of fighters that we have representing us. I’ve stepped into a position where I can help some of these guys prepare for their fights and it’s given me a new love of training. Researching, practicing, and fine tuning techniques has been an awesome experience for me as I take on a new position on the other side of the cage.

These two gentlemen Brentt Lim and Lance Novotny fought a week ago and have already come back to training. Yesterday we reviewed footage and practiced some positional situations. That kind of passion and commitment is contagious and has pushed me to stay on top of my game and continue to learn and grow as a (former) fighter, instructor, and person.

After our training session, they respectfully thanked me as they always do. What they didn’t know was that I wanted to thank THEM for continuing to push me to fine tune the years of experience I’ve gained on the mats alongside some of these best people I’ve ever met. I’ve come to learn that with the right mindset everything can be a learning experience if you look closely enough.
